WHAT TO BRING
Hey guys, we’re so excited that you are joining us on our Aug 2022 Whitewater men’s weekend!
Here’s some important information you need to know before you come:

Waivers:
Rafting – MUST BE FILLED OUT ONLINE BEFORE ARRIVING IF AT ALL POSSIBLE
Ocoee Retreat Center – MUST BE PRINTED OUT OR FILLED OUT WHEN ARRIVING
— The last few miles of the trip will be on back roads but will mainly be paved (sorta 😉 ). If you get turned around for any reason, look for the signs for the Camp.
— Once you arrive at the camp, stop at the welcoming/check-in center to your left. There you will sign waivers you have not yet. You can also get a map to show you where on the property to go.
— Our cabin is Cedar this time (NIOT SUNSET AS MAP SHOWS) which can be found by following signs through the camp. It is approximately half a mile from the check-in station and located near the end of the gravel road once making a left turn at the fork.
— You can also attempt to call us at 770.744.5002 if need be.
— If you will be arriving past 9pm for any reason at all, please attempt to let us know beforehand.
WhAT TO BRING
We will be in bunk style cabin rooms. Please bring:
1) either sheets for a bunk bed and/or a sleeping bag and pillow
2) –towels/soap for the shower
3) journal/pen
4) old sneaker/clothes if we do adventure race (yea, you get dirty… really dirty)
FOR RAFTING
— VERY IMPORTANT**: no flip-flops or backless sandals/shoes are allowed / use either water shoes/sandals or old sneakers
— swimsuit / shirt possibly (you will be wearing a PFD)
— do not plan on bringing your phone in raft it will likely get dunked / instead bring a gopro (helmets w GP attachment are available) / pictures will be taken by OAR along the way as well
— bring cash for pictures/tipping your guide if you’d like
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
– flashlight
-bug spray
– sunscreen / sunglasses
– water bottle
(some guys like to bring EARPLUGS as well, just in case your bunkmate is hackin lumber.)
SCHEDULE
ARRIVAL (Thurs Aug 11):
— check-in at camp starts at 5pm (go to Check-in building to sign waiver then proceed to cabin)
— dinner on Thurs night is BYO / we will meet around 6:30pm at Bears Den BBQ near the camp (about 12 min ride) (https://goo.gl/maps/sibGQyGMCjuJEjoE9) / bring payment if you’d like to join
— first session will begin no later than 9pm (much sooner if all have arrived)
Fri Aug 12
Water Park and/or Adventure Race in afternoon
Sat May 13
Rafting in morning 9:15. drive to outpost no later than 8:55 (629 Welcome Valley Rd, Benton, TN 37307) / IF YOU ARE NOT GOING RAFTING PLEASE LET US KNOW, OTHER OPTIONS AVAILABLE SUCH AS CAVE TOUR (1HR AWAY)
DEPARTURE (Sun Aug 14)
– the weekend will conclude at approx 11am on Sun / breakfast but no lunch provided that day / please make every attempt to remain that day at is a crucial part of our weekend
MAP BELOW: THIS IS FOR OUR LAST CABIN BUT SIMILAR ROUTE. INSTEAD OF TURNING RIGHT AT LAST GREEN ARROW STAY STRAIGHT TO THE LEFT. CEDAR WILL BE 2ND OR 3RD CABIN ON LEFT. NAME ON FRONT.
